This website is owned by The Best of Exmoor which is an Exmoor based bookings agency driven to help guests book the accommodation they want more efficiently via online booking or telephone contact.
The terms and conditions detailed below apply to all bookings whether made online at www.thecafeporlockweir.co.uk, www.thebestofexmoor.co.uk or made by telephone.
When you make a booking, your contract (which includes these terms and conditions) will be with The Cafe Porlock Weir. All rates are subject to availability, all bookings are taken at the discretion of The Cafe Porlock Weir.
You will be asked to guarantee your booking with a debit or credit card including your 3 digit security code. We accept , MasterCard, Maestro, Eurocard Visa & Visa Delta. Payments may also be made via bank transfer, you must ensure that you pay any commission and cleared funds must be in our account prior to arrival.
Reservations will require a 20% deposit at the time of booking.
What happens if you need to cancel?
Please cancel any booking in writing by emailing us here email@example.com
No refunds of the deposit will be given on the cancellation of a Booking by the Guest.
The balance of your stay in due at the reception at the end of your stay.
Cancellation charges can be protected against if you purchase travel insurance, we advise all travellers to protect themselves with travel insurance to ensure peace of mind.
Cancellation by The Cafe Porlock Weir
Very occasionally, The Hotel may have to cancel your booking. We will tell you as soon as possible, and offer you an alternative accommodation of the same standard, or higher, or offer a full refund. We regret we cannot pay compensation or any reimbursement of any expenses or costs you may incur as a result of any such cancellation or change.
We will never disclose or in any other way share your name, phone number, or email address with anyone outside our organisation except as specified within the Data Protection Act 1984 (or as subsequently amended).
We will only use such information to respond to questions you ask, inform you of upcoming events, and send you our periodic newsletter, to which you may cancel your subscription at any time, and we will permanently remove you from our mailing list.
All your financial information will be destroyed by us after the deposit has been taken from you card details.
The Cafe cannot accept responsibility or pay any compensation where the performance or prompt performance of the contract is prevented or affected by reason of circumstances which amount to "force majeure". Circumstances amounting to "force majeure" include any event which we could not, even with all due care, foresee or avoid. Such circumstances include the destruction or damage of your accommodation (which cannot reasonably be remedied to a satisfactory standard before the start of your stay) through fire, flood, explosion, storm or other weather damage, break-in, criminal damage, riots or civil strife, industrial action, natural or nuclear disaster, fire, adverse weather conditions, war or threat of war, actual or threatened terrorist activity, epidemic and all similar situations beyond our control.
All rates quoted are per room per night and include breakfast, are subject to availability and include Value Added Tax & Services. Special rates quoted cannot be used in conjunction with any other discount, offer or promotion.
Food & Beverage
Breakfast times may vary on bank holidays.
Please contact the hotel with any special dietary requirements.
Car parking is freely available at our hotel. Your room booking does not guarantee a parking space.
Vehicles and contents are left at owners risk.
Our hotel complies with the access requirements of local disability legislation. If you have special requirements please inform us at the time of booking. Please note we do not have ground floor accommodation and there is no lift. There is disabled access to the restaurant downstairs.
Check In & Check Out
Check in is from 2pm and check out is by 11am.
If you plan to arrive after 10pm, please advise the hotel (01643 863300). Failure to notify of late arrival may result in loss of access, and our cancellation terms will apply.
We allow dogs at the hotel, if you intend to bring a dog, we must be made aware at the time of booking, we request that all dogs are kept out of the public rooms, and are not allowed on the hotel beds. Dogs must be quiet and well-behaved. There is a £10 for a dog in your room.
The hotel is totally smoke free and penalty fees will be applied if you smoke in the hotel. Smoking is permitted in the hotel gardens.
